Manitowoc Public Utilities (MPU) experienced a power outage that affected approximately 3,161 customers on Monday, June 26, 2023 due to the loss of the Rapids substation. The cause of the loss was a faulted cable. Electric Distribution staff were able to restore power to our customers using alternate sources, such as another substation, to feed power.
