MPU is a community-owned utility providing water, wastewater treatment, electric, steam and hot water, and dark fiber services. The Commission recognizes that these safe and cost-effective utility services are essential quality of life services. MPU providing these services makes our community stronger and attractive to our current and prospective citizens and businesses.
The Commission recognizes that there are unique circumstances when it may be beneficial to our customers for MPU to make reasonable investments into the community. Understanding this role in the success and viability of our community, the Commission will support community organizations, and their activities, within the City of Manitowoc that enrich the lives of our citizens. The General Manager shall oversee an annual donation program. The selection criteria shall be consistent with MPU’s mission and vision.
The following types of donations will not be allowed:
- Individual
- Political organization or activity
- Religious organization or activity
- Organizations whose programs discriminate any status protected by law
